We're feeling a little better for the moment

Well, we've sorted out a few of our issues. Let's recap before we look at the solutions.

1. Our movers were late. 2 days late! The plan was to pack the our beetle to the roof and then, when the truck arrived, pack the rest of our junk on there. We just couldn't sit around for 2 days waiting for the truck to arrive. It would have been awesome if they could have phoned us, say, I don't know, BEFORE they were supposed to arrive.

So we packed our stuff, made nice with the landlady, and left. The movers assured us it would be fine. We'll find out on Monday, when they drop the stuff off, if the pickup went well.

2. The car ran away. Well, technically, I LET the car run away by pulling the hand-brake up only halfway. It shows JUST how flat the Prairies are. It was in the mountains just before the national park, and we'd stopped for a quick coffee. I came out and saw a car that looked EXACTLY like ours, off to the side and up the curd. Claire saw an empty parking spot. She freaked. Then I freaked. Then I sighed with relief when I noticed the run-away wasn't jammed into another car. Also there were no people under the wheels.

3. We got to a little town, and stopped for more coffee (we should learn that that's when bad stuff happens). I'll tell you what the name of the town is in just a second. So we sat down for a little softserve with our coffee and decided that because we were getting close, we should phone ahead and ask the our new landlady if we could move our stuff in that night.
"Oh, so you wanted it?": She asked. She'd rented it out to someone else. We were 120km from Abbotsford, with a car packed to the roof, and we had nowhere to live.
The town is called "Hope".

Needless to say, we had a bit of greyhair inducing stress. Well, I had hair-fallingout-inducing stress (as if I needed the help). But, we did our thing and now we have a place to move into on Monday and a place to stay for this week. In fact, we're in Vancouver for the week. This is our view:

Claire is, as I type, writing the first few parts of her assessments. I think I'm more nervous than her so excuse the sweaty typing (okay, she's pretty nervous too). Let me distract myself with some yummy pics from our trip here.

And Claire. Sitting somewhere that made us happy.
That is all.

What would you do

And don't say you'd shoot the hostage.

So, its 12:15, and the movers called us 30 minutes ago (45 minutes AFTER they were supposed to ARRIVE) saying that they were only going to arrive on Monday. Talk about a bind, right? Our car is packed and we have to leave today. Our shit is all over the house ready to go. Only noone is coming.

So what would you do? Goodness knows.

That is all.

Crazy weather

Okay, so on Wednesday we had to go to Saskatoon, but nearly had to cancel because there was a blizzard and the roads were so slippery and yesterday it was PLUS 22 and we were wearing shorts. Insane changes in th weather.

Anyway, we are leaving MJ on Saturday next week. Lots to do.................

What's new?

So, we've been, you know, hanging. I've been animating (faces at the moment - quite a challenge, I must admit) and Claire's been studying. We basically spend the whole day within touching distance, which is definitely more than most couples can hope for. I'm doing what I love, and I dare say Claire is quite enjoying the learning herself. I mean, if we had a nicer view, I would be trying my hardest to keep doing just this until the day I died!

With us bottled up like ships (badum), we do have to make actual outing plans. Here's the fruits of our Crescent Park outing (well, mine. I suspect we'll get a few snaps from Claire, who, as you will see, was busy doing her thang too).

That is all.

Hi

Just a quick "Hi". We've been kind of distracted lately with loads of admin going on here. I've been studying like crazy, am writing a whole bunch of exams over the next few weeks and sometime between them we have to pack up and move to Vancouver. Excited like you can't believe about the Vancouver part, not so excited about the moving and packing.

Otherwise Moose Jaw has just welcomed three new young South African doctors, all seem really cool, and we're really annoyed that we couldn't have planned better, life would have been much better with some other young people around. Oh, well.

The weather won't make up its frikking mind. Its still way too cold, we were teased with a few days of temps in the teens, but now we're back in the minuses. Hurry up summer.

We didn't win the Saturday lottery.
We had kinder surprises for easter - yum.
I am getting really good at bejeweled.
And that is the sum of my boring, life while studying.
Bring on June.

Nightime

What happens when you are lying in bed and you suddenly think of something that would be cool? You get up and DO that thing!

Like, shining a little torch through a wine bottle at a stationary camera in the dark on 20 second exposure, for example.

Or perhaps shining it through a different colour?

Let me just warn you: You may not be super popular after jumping around the house in the dark at night flailing things around. It was worth it.

That is all.
